Veterinary Services (Fees) Notice 2026
under the Veterinary Services Act 2023
1—Short title
This notice may be cited as the Veterinary Services (Fees) Notice 2026.
Note—This is a fee notice made in accordance with the Legislation (Fees) Act 2019.
2—Commencement
This notice has effect on .
3—Interpretation
In this notice—
- Act
- means the Veterinary Services Act 2023.
4—Fees
The fees set out in Schedule 1 are prescribed for the purposes of the Act.
Schedule 1—Fees
Veterinarian Registration
| 1 | Application fee for registration or reinstatement on a register (Sections 28 and 31 of Act)— | |
| (a) for registration or reinstatement on the general register— | ||
| (i) for a new graduate | $275 | |
| (ii) for a retiree | $150 | |
| (iii) for a person intending to take extended leave (for example, maternity, paternity, or study leave etc.) within the next 12 months | $150 | |
| (iv) for a person with equivalent registration in New Zealand | $275 | |
| (v) for any other person | $275 | |
| (b) for registration or reinstatement on the specialist register | $275 | |
| 2 | Annual practice fee for a person registered under Part 3 Division 2 of Act (Section 32 of Act)— | |
| (a) for a person registered on the general register— | ||
| (i) for a new graduate | $400 | |
| (ii) for a retiree | $150 | |
| (iii) for a person intending to take extended leave (for example, maternity, paternity, or study leave etc.) within the next 12 months | $150 | |
