Under the Veterinary Services Act 2023, veterinary services must only be provided at premises registered with the Board. A business involving veterinary services cannot operate from unregistered premises.
Veterinary premises can be registered in the following categories:
- Veterinary consulting/examination rooms
- Veterinary surgery/clinic
- Veterinary mobile clinic
- Veterinary hospital
- Occasional premises
To be eligible for registration, premises must meet the minimum standards set out in the Veterinary Premises Standards, have a designated responsible person, and satisfy all other requirements determined by the Board.
*For Hospitals with existing registration, the remainder of that registration will continue under the Veterinary Services Act 2023 until the original expiration date.
